Tutors for adults are needed more than ever.
Due to the state budget impasse, a majority of Literacy Works' member agencies have not received funding since June 30th . Operating on shoestring budgets, many of these programs have been forced to suspend services, lay off staff, or shut down entirely. For those programs that remain open, volunteers are more essential than ever.
Until our vital network of professional instructors can return to their work, volunteers are sustaining services by tutoring the most vulnerable adult learners.
If you are no longer tutoring but might consider returning, now is the time!
