Rules I Use
Count a country when I’ve had a meal and a cultural experience there. Airports and drive-throughs do not count.
Life to me is all about connections and relationships, so it’s no surprise that I love traveling. The opportunity to meet new people, see amazing sights, try out new food, and build lasting memories is almost addictive. I love it. This page is about sharing a piece of my journey with others. Perhaps one day we will be in the same city, enjoying a new cultural experience. Perhaps we can create a shared memory.
There are 195 UN countries in the world today. There are dozens of Non-Self-Governing Territories that most people consider separate countries as well. When dependent territories are included, the United Nations recognizes a total of 241 countries and territories. My target is but a portion of these – 50 countries. Explore the cities I have visited here or in the map below.

50 countries first. Then go deeper with longer cultural stays focused on food and people.

My 50 country target requires that at minimum I have a meal and/or some definitive cultural experience in the country. In all but Belgium, however, I have spent at least one night as well.
I’ve visited 0 countries and territories so far!
